Sumario:In the context of evaluating an intervention to introduce provitamin A-rich orange sweet potato in rural Ugandan communities, HarvestPlus and its collaborators conducted surveys of dietary intakes using an interactive, 24-hour recall method (Gibson and Ferguson 2008). After meeting with local partners, it was clear that a comprehensive, up-to-date food composition table (FCT) appropriate for Ugandan diets was not available. Regionally focused FCTs were also limited when this work commenced in 2006. Hence, HarvestPlus undertook to develop an FCT for use in Central and Eastern Uganda
