En 1991 las pérdidas de peso causadas por estos bruquidos y otros factores a productores de pequeña escala en siete meses de almacenamiento aicanzaron 8.5%. Las pérdidas de almacenamiento causadas por insectos fueron 6.7% y por otros factores fueron 1.6%. Durante 1993 las pérdidas en poscosecha alcanzaron 6.6%.
