houses approximately 900 students. To make a design proposal for the courtyard that lies at
the canteen I decided from the outset that I wanted to take some of the Tessin School
Students' opinions and wishes regarding their own outdoor spaces. I had a workshop with
eight students from the arts program with the image orientation in which they had to draw
and tell them what they wanted to do in the courtyard. The outcome of the workshop, I
used to move forward in my future work with a concept that fit into the environment, we
then apply it in my final design proposal. To find out more about what impact green school
environments have on children and young people's learning and what are the theories that
serve children and adolescents have a responsibility in the community planning work I have
also made a literature review. The final result was my final design proposal based on the
students and the trustee’s desire for a more pleasant and efficient maintenance courtyard.

Arbetet är skrivet på uppdrag av Nyköping kommuns parkförvaltning genom Pat Radestedt som önskade ett gestaltningsförslag till en av de fem innergårdarna på Tessinskolan i Nyköping. Tessinskolan ligger 2 km från Nyköpings centrum och skolan rymmer cirka 900 elever. För att göra ett gestaltningsförslag till den innergården som ligger vid matsalen beslutade jag mig redan från början att jag ville ta del av Tessinskolanselevers åsikter och önskemål gällande deras egen utemiljö. Jag hade en workshop med åtta elever från det estetiska programmet med bildinriktning där de fick rita och berätta vad de ville göra på innergården. Resultatet av workshopen använde jag mig sedan av för att gå vidare i mitt fortsatta arbete med ett koncept som passade in i miljön för att sen applicera det i mitt slutliga gestaltningsförslag. För att ta reda på mer om vad gröna skolmiljöer har för påverkan på barn och ungdomars inlärning samt vad det finns för teorier om att delge barn och ungdomar ett ansvar i samhällets planeringsarbeten har även en litteraturstudie gjorts.
