Hur många mjölkgetter det finns i Sverige kan bara uppskattas och det talet är någonstans <5500 individer. En enkät skickades till mjölkgetsbönder och 22 svar på denna enkät utvärderades i detta arbete. Frågorna rörde hur getgården drevs och hur getägarna upplevde hälsoläget bland sina getter. Svaren skilde sig mycket åt och fler undersökningar behöver göras för att ge en närmare bild av hälsoläget bland de svenska mjölkgetterna.
