| Sumario: | The task of making a correct application for B- activities is the foundry time consuming
task. Information and facts concerning your entire business activity shall be attached into
a description of environmental consequences, which will be the basis for the decision
making whether the activities shall be granted a permission to practise environmentally
hazardous actions or not.
When the Environmental Act were established 1999, the permission process became
more extensor. With this study I want to give an insight about how these applications are
made. The methods I have used to collect information are a study literature where the
Environmental Act has been the focus, and qualitative interviews with two County
Administrative Board. I used the Environmental Act to understand why permission is
needed and the interviews to give me insight in how the work is done.
My conclusion is that it is very unusual that an application is granted without
complements. Consultants are always used for the practical work with an application and
a lot of time and money can be saved if the applicant hires a good consultant. The
qualities to look for are experience, good cooperation with the concerned governments
and how well the consultant is updated and initiated into permission examination. During
my interviews it appeared that some parts of the application that is commonly required to
be complemented at the different regional governments. In the most cases, the situation
plan was deficient. The plan shall clearly specify how the planned activities are believed
to affect the surrounding area, planned ways of transport. Animal stables and warehouses
and so on shall also be marked on the plan. The application consists of a lot of
calculations concerning nutritive substances that are occurring on the farm and it is
important to make a comprehensive calculation of nutritional waste. The appliance shall
be able to show in his/her analyses that the amount of waste will not be bigger in the
relation of discharges per hectare or per ton of milk/meat than the existing activities are
producing.
It is up to you as an appliance to solve the storage and spreading acreage if the own
acreage is not sufficient is to be recorded extensively with storage and spreading
contracts that might have been established with enterprises in the vicinity. As I
mentioned in the beginning, the making of an application is time consuming and in some
cases a test of patience. It is therefore important that the work with the information
collecting is started well in advance and that good contacts are established with the
government.
The bases of permission appliances are a concern for the environment. In our activities
we have a responsibility to make sure that we do not waste the recourses that has been
given us, and that we learn to manage them in a sustainable way. In conclusion I want to
summarize this essay with an old saying, with is worth reflecting over, and that I think
everyone should consider.
