| Summary: | I have through a case study looked on a milkingfarm in Dalarna and been counting on
what it would cost to increase the silagestorage. Today they have to little capacity on the
existing towersilo because they built a bigger farm with more cows. The reason is that
two families decided to start having the production on one farm together and moved all
animals from one of the farms to the other farm. So for that reason I have looked on the
costs to build a new towersilo or levelsilo.
The goal has been not only to look at the buildingcost but also which operatingcost that
is included with the different alternatives. I have taken tenders from two different
towersilocompany, Bjurenwall and Svenska Neuero and taken tenders from Abetong for
a levelsilo with roof and one without roof.
The overall feed requirements on the farm is on 240 tonnes dry extract and the old
towersilo hold 110 tonnes dry extract so the need for a new foundation is on 130 tonnes
dry extract.
I have through cost estimate been counting on the specific buildingcost for each
buildingaltenative. Then I have found out which different operatingcost the different
buildingalternative brings. Levelsiloalternative demands a traktor with driver who
comes and collect forage and that costs money. In towersiloalternative it is an electric
powercost for fans and fillemtymachine and a staffcost to start the machine and a certain
servicing like re-greasing the plate and layer etc.
In the casestudy it have come to see that the result was that Bjurenvall towersilo had the
most cheap yearcost on building and operatingcost on 62 191 SEK per year. On second
place was Abetongs Levelsilo without roof and it costs 92 040 SEK per year. On the
third place was Svensk Neueros towersilo that costs 103 163 SEK per year. Most
expensive was it with Abetongs plansilo with roof that costs 117 331 SEK per year.
An important conclusion is that it is important not to only look at the buildingcosts but
also try to get an understanding of which operatingcost that arise with different systems.
I have also made a literaturstudy concerning statistics on how pastureproduktion looks
in Sweden. How big harvest it is in different places in the country and which different
harvestmethod that is used. And how different harvestmethod affect to dry extract losses
in the crop. This is to get a little insight how the pasture is used in Sweden. |
