To make this case study I choose to compare four different systems. In the case study
there was one system with bin drying of the grain, two systems with airtight storage of
the grain and one system where you buy dried grain during the season.
I made several of capital investment appraisal where I found the cost of each system,
then I took the cost and divided it with the total grain use and calculated the cost for
each kilogram of grain, and also the cost of the feed.
Then I compared the cost from my case study with the cost of buying feed.
All the systems except for one, gave a lower cost for the hen feed than buying feed from
a dealer The best system, witch were bin drying lower the cost with about 80 000:- SEK |

Spannmål som skall blandas in i fodret till de värphöns som finns på gården där det system som jag finner är bäst skall sättas upp. Jämförelsen gäller dels helt olika system, silo tork kontra lufttät lagring och olika system inom lufttät lagring. Jämförelsen har varit en mestadels ekonomisk jämförelse men jag har även gjort en liten teknisk jämförelse. För att få fram fakta som jag kunde basera min fallstudie på så jämförde jag fyra olika system mot varandra. Det som jämfördes var els två system med lufttät lagring, ett system med silo torkning och ett system med inköpt färdigtorkad spannmål. Jag gjorde olika investeringskalkyler och fick fram den totala årskostnaden för varje system och dels kostnaden per kilo spannmål för varje system samt också vad foderkostnaderna blir. Sedan jämförde jag det priset med det nuvarande foderpriset på inköpt färdig foder. Alla system utom ett gav ett lägre foderpris än vad man har i dag och det billigaste sänkte foderpriset med ca tio öre kilot och sänkte därmed foderkostnaden med ca 80000:- kr per hönsomgång. Resultatet av studien är att silotorkning är det bästa både rent ekonomiskt och även i praktiken.
