Sumario:The piquizeira, Caryocar coriaceum Wittm., is a widespread plant in most of the states in Brazil. The author reports the fat percentage in three parts of the fruit: The pulp, kernel´s husk and the kernel. The fruits used as samples came from Ceará and Piaui. The fat content in the piqui is compared to the one in cottonseed, peanut, sesame, sunflower and soybean.
