The testing program was formalized in 1976 with the object of evaluating at ClAT nurseries introduced from IRRI and the promising material developed by national programs in Latin America (during 1980 to 1993). From among this germplasm, the material considered most appropriate to the needs of the various Latin American countries la distributed through various specific nurseries. |
