Sumario:Aiming at generating impact in low carbon livestock production, CIAT-CCAFS and Climate Focus created a technical and financial assistance center in Colombia (GANSO). GANSO developed a certification scheme that is now in place for sustainable beef production. The largest retailer in Colombia (Exito) already adopted it and started selling through its channels, facilitating market-based climate action. Consumers pay premium prices for certified-GANSO products and Exito pays a bonus to the farmer for producing beef with environmental, social and animal-management pillars
