description This thesis is based on information from all Södra’s harvesting assignments in thinning from 2015. The aim of this study is to examine how much room there is for thinning with harvester measurements. There are two aspects that have a major impact on whether a contract is accepted for harvester measurement or not. The first is that maximum ten percent may come from tree species that the harvester is not crowned for. The second aspect is that a maximum of five percent may be multi tree harvested. The survey was worked out in collaboration with Södra to answer this questions. The results show that a total of 29 percent of the volume is approved for harvesting measurement. The aspect where maximum 10 percent may come from tree species that the harvester is not crowned for had the biggest impact on the results.
