Landskapsarkitektyrket är ett relativt ungt yrke, vars tunna yrkeshistorik bidrar till en allmänhet som generellt är dålig på att definiera yrkesrollen. Medias framställning och tolkning av yrket är också en starkt bidragande faktor till att den skeva bilden av yrkesrollen ytterligare förstärks.
Syftet med denna pilotstudie är att granska ett antal utvalda medier, vars information ställs i motpol till ett antal intervjuade yrkesverksamma landskapsarkitekter. Resultatet förstärker min teori om att det finns en utbredd okunskap hos såväl kollegor som allmänheten. Det finns ingen enkel förklaring till varför bilden av yrkesrollen ser ut som den gör enligt studien, utan frågan är ytterst komplicerad och kräver större utrymme för att kunna besvaras korrekt. Dock är den komplexa yrkesrollen i kombination med medias framställning av yrket som enbart hortikulturellt, grunden till missförståelse.
Yrket går en ljus framtid till mötes med en allt starkare växande bransch och med en kompetens som motiverar framtida utveckling. Landskapsarkitekten besitter en yrkestitel i tiden!

Abstract
As our awareness of the environmental impact on our well-being increases, so increases the need for a skilled profession who are planning our living environment based on the prevailing conditions.
The landscape profession is a relatively young profession, whose thin occupational history contributes to a public that is generally hard defining. Media's portrayal and interpretation of the profession is also a strong contributing factor that further strengthens the already skewed image of the professional role.
The aim of this pilot study is to examine a number of selected media, whose information is in antithesis to a number of professionals interviewed landscape architects.
The result reinforces my theory that there is widespread ignorance of both colleagues as well as the public. There is no easy explanation for why the image of the professional role looks as it does in the study, but the issue is extremely complicated and requires more time and resources to answer correctly.
However is the complex professional role in combination with the media image of the profession alone horticultural, the basis for misunderstandings?
The profession is a bright future to meet with an increasingly strong and growing industry with a proficiency that justifies future development.
Landscape architects have a professional title for the future!
