To start this work a contact was taken with the forester in Båstad Kommun to get their impact on how they were thinking about the future of the area. It was also important to get a picture of how people think a good urban forest should look like. To get this information a study was needed on what was written in this subject and what was important to think about when planning the thinning of this area.
In the background study it showed the importance of keeping a natural forest with high variation. To have a mix with natural regeneration and old deciduous tree is a good example of high variation. Something that proved to touch people strong is their history and origin. In this area there were plenty of ancient sites that one had to take extra care of. Not least given that they are protected by law, but as I said has been shown to increase the comfort for people visiting the area.
The result of the work also led to some interesting topics to highlight the information to the public. Different natural environments and cultural environments were presented as examples and a review of the paths and likewise were given a draft measure to generate a better recreation area. |
