Summary:The spatial aspect of the fire history of Norra Kvills national park in south eastern, hemi boreal Sweden was reconstructed by cross dating of trees, stumps and snags of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris). Between 1401 and 1798 forty eight different fires were recorded and 35 of these could be spatially reconstructed. The burned areas range from 20 ha to 422 ha with an average of about 130 ha.
