My methods are comprised of a literature study on urban farming and storytelling as well as a discussion with the res-taurateur Rafael Löfstedt. I create a story of the place by examining its historical background and connect it to the current philosophy of the Villa Anna restaurant. This story, together with the functional de-mands of the patio, has guided my design to create a working whole. Storytelling is seldom used within landscape architecture; however, I have found it useful and well worth further interest. Urban farm-ing is a growing movement and offers a new view on how fresh produce is procured and thereby gives a fresh perspective on food and eating. Restaurants have a key role in eating trends and are able to act as trendsetters within popular food culture. Accordingly, it is increasingly interesting to explore how urban farming can be used within that context. Through urban farming, food production can be brought into the realm of landscape architecture and explored in new ways. |

I denna uppsats gestaltar jag ett nytt uteserveringskoncept för Hotell och Restaurang Villa Anna i Odinslund i Uppsala. Genom gestaltningen undersöker jag hur urban odling kan ske i en uteser-veringsmiljö. Målet med gestaltningen är att förmedla Villa Annas kärnvärden vad gäller matfilosofi till besökaren och att förstärka besökarens känsla för platsen genom storytelling. Mina metoder innefattar en litteraturstudie kring den urbana odlingens aspekter och storytelling som arbetssätt samt samtal med restauratören Rafael Löfstedt. För att skapa berättelsen kring platsen – storyn – har jag undersökt platsens historia och kopplat ihop det med det nuvarande Villa Annas filosofi som restaurang. Berättelsen är vägledande i min gestaltning tillsammans med odlingens funktionella krav för att ska-pa en helhet kring platsen. Storytelling är, inom landskapsarkitektu-ren, ett ovanligt arbetssätt som jag dock funnit användbart och väl värt vidare intresse. Den urbana odlingen är en växande rörelse som ställer nya krav på hur vi definierar råvaruproduktion och därmed hur vi definierar maten och måltidens roll. Restaurangnäringen har en nyckelroll som trendsättare i dessa frågor och jag menar att det därför blir extra intressant att utforska hur just den branschen kan ta sig an den urbana odlingen. Genom urban odling förs matproduktion in i landskapsarkitektens domäner och kan utforskas på ett nytt sätt.
