Sumario:Vargaslätten is a 15 hectare large privet garden in Halland in the south-west of Sweden. In the beginning of the 1990s Gunnar O.Westerberg, the owner of Vargaslätten, commissioned a work from the young landscapearchitect, Rolf Efvergren, to write Vargaslätten – tillägnad naturen. It was a discribing work of the current status of the garden and the summer-house of Vargaslätten. Vargaslätten – tillägnad naturen was a comprehensive work with a detalied inventory of all the plants, the buildings, the description of the surroundings and the history. And it was the start of an active period at Vargaslätten. A group, called Vargaslättskommittén, was formed to create a development plan for the garden. Meanwhile Gunnar O. Westerberg worked to plan the longterm financial security of Vargaslätten. The focus of the work has been the years between 1989-2009, how the garden has expanded and who the persons behind the developments have been. I have also included a short history of Vargaslätten's entire history because it is necessary for the understanding of the present day situation and a short discription of the founder Sigfrid Ericson, the current gardener Nils-Olof Nilsson and the owner during the period 1954-2001, Gunnar O. Westerberg. I have written a short discussion about preservation values and whether Vargaslätten is worth preserving for future generations or not.
