Sumario:This report presents the resource horse manure and its different applications. The work is divided in two parts, a literature study and a case study. In the case study six stakeholders within agriculture and biogas production was interviewed. Horse manure is a resource to be used both in agriculture and biogas production. The demand for horse manure is dependent of what bedding and how much bedding is used since it affects both the plant nutrient content, fertilizer value and how well it performs in biogas production. The way the manure is treated has also an effect on the nutrient content and how to use the rest product. Compost and biogas production give an end product with high carbon content, lots of nutrients and biological activity, well suited for spreading on the fields. If the manure is burned the end product is ash with a main content of minerals without biological activity and low amounts of carbon and nitrogen. Regardless, t is important to think through the pros and cons of the different systems to find the methods that best suits your own situation.
