Bear hunting in Sweden is conducted in a similar way as moose hunting with the same types of dogs and thus there is a possibility that moose are also affected during the bear hunt. The purpose of this study is to describe how moose's movement patterns are affected by bear hunting. This was done by analysing GPS positions for 24 moose in Gävleborg County. How the moose's speed of movement, distance travelled, and how the choice of habitat (percent) differed between the period before the start of the bear hunt and after was tested based on the position data. The results showed that there were differences in speed of movement, distance travelled and
certain habitat choices before and after the start of the bear hunt. However, what it is during the bear hunting that affects the moose's movement patterns is difficult to determine with the available data in this study. More extensive studies should be done in this subject to increase knowledge about how different management methods for game interact with each other to create a good national game
management. |

Jakt på olika typer av hjortdjur är en populär fritidsaktivitet som kan påverka viltets rörelsemönster på olika sätt. Jakt på hjortdjur med olika typer av hundar kan ha inverkan på deras rörelsemönster främst under kort sikt. Älgar är ett av dessa hjortdjur som jagas i Sverige och det finns en långtgående tradition att använda hundar vid jakt av olika typer av vilt i Norden. Björnjakten i Sverige bedrivs på ett liknande sätt som älgjakten med samma typer av hundar och därmed finns det en möjlighet att även älgar blir påverkade under björnjakten. Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva hur älgars rörelsemönster påverkas av björnjakten. Detta gjordes genom att analysera GPSpositioner för 24 älgar i Gävleborgs län. Baserat på älgarnas positionsdata testades det om älgarnas rörelsehastighet och förflyttade distans, samt val av habitat (procent) skiljde sig åt mellan perioden före björnjaktens start och efter. Resultatet visade att det fanns skillnader i rörelsehastighet, förflyttad distans och vissa habitatval före och efter björnjaktens början. Vad det är under björnjakten som påverkar älgarnas rörelsemönster är dock svårt att avgöra med det tillgängliga datat i denna studie.
