description Introduction: Many people who have a connection to agriculture will at some time be affected by a change of ownership. Roles that then become involved are the transferor, the transferee, the siblings and third parties (neighbor, consultant, employee). Everything from economy, law, production, leadership to life puzzles, emotions and values are topics that concern ownership change. Ownership is often a big event, where the future and history meets. (Bucht, R., Kindlund, P., Lindberg, J. & Odén, C., 1990) (Petersson, P.H., 1981). Purpose and method: It would be interesting to study how people in the agricultural sector think about change of ownership with a focus on the soft values. A relevant segment would be young people as being our future. The purpose of this study was to superficially draw a map of thoughts by young people under the age of 20 with agricultural interests on relevant issues of ownership change. To get answers, a survey has been conducted together with a literature study. The survey was based on interviewing 24 young people under the age of 20, when the demarcation became young people who made a relatively active choice to work in agriculture. The demarcation led to the participation of only agricultural students from upper secondary school. Results: The interview summary showed that young people under the age of 20 had unique dreams about having their own farm / own company. The summary also showed that young people under the age of 20 were divided in the issue of young people's ability to acquire a farm / business. Strategic business planning with economics and production was absolutely paramount to focus on under a change of ownership according to the young people. The compilation showed with certainty that emotions were involved in a change of ownership and that the farm was important because of the farmer's relationships and memories connected with the farm. Conclusion: Change of ownership is important and can be sensitive, especially with siblings. The study also highlights the importance of planning, gaining perspective and striving for harmony for all parties. Farmers must take the issue of ownership change seriously. NUTEK (2004) supports the idea that the business owner must gain an understanding of the importance of preparing for a change of ownership and leadership change.

NUTEK (2004) supports the idea that the business owner must gain an understanding of the importance of preparing for a change of ownership and leadership change. 2019-03-22 First cycle, G1E NonPeerReviewed application/pdf en https://stud.epsilon.slu.se/14335/1/lundin_m_181109.pdf Lundin, Milan, 2018.
