description The purpose of this study is to look into what makes people choose to study at a forest university or work in the forest sector. People who is working in the forest sector has responded to a survey about there childhood connection to the forest. By analyzing the answers and look for one common denominator we have one possible reason to why people choose to study at a forest university and work in the forest sector. If the common denominator is different kinds of organizations connected to the forest and nature there might be a possibility for companies and schools to market themself in thoes organizations. In total 92 persons working in the forest sector took part in the study and answered the questions in the survey. Most of them have been developing there intrest in nature and the forest from activities that they have been doing with their familys at a young age. Hunting, fishing, picking berrys and picking mushrooms were some of the most common activites. In the end of the survey they were asked if they think that the activities that they did as kids have been effecting there choice of studies and work. Most of the people that took part in the survey said ”yes” to that question. An other part of the essay is focused on why people enjoy spending time in the nature. The nature and forest effects humans in all kind of ways. Being in the forest or in green areas in a city reduce stress and the sounds, lights and colors in nature have a good effect on the human brain. Last but not least there is a chapter about what makes us choose a school or a work space according to research in psychology. And in the end, a try to connect the answeres in the survey and the natures effect on humans with the research in psychology on what makes us choose a school of a work space.
