In this study, none of the sampled animals suffered from a deficiency of any of the microminerals and the risk of poisoning was seen only due to high levels of Cu. High values of Cu were observed in all herds. No significant difference between adult animals and lamb or between sex could be detected. |

Förgiftning och brist av olika mikromineraler förekommer i svenska fårbesättningar. Vissa raser är mer känsliga än andra för att drabbas på grund av skillnader i olika metaboliska funktioner. En annan orsak till brist eller toxicitet kan vara på grund av otillräcklig utfodringsyta. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka variationen i leverkoncentrationen av mikromineralerna Se, Co och Cu inom och mellan fårbesättningar i Uppland och om denna variation kan kopplas till faktorer som kön eller ålder. Studien visade att variationen i koncentrationen mikromineralerna Se, Co och Cu var större inom besättningen än mellan olika besättningar. I denna studie led inga djur av brist på någon av mikromineralerna och risk för förgiftning sågs hos 3 djur på grund av höga nivåer av Cu. Det var generellt höga värden av Cu i samtliga besättningar.
