| description | The ambition with this piece of work, a collaborative project between a landscape architecture student and an architecture student, is to design a centre for art and culture at Lilla Stenshuvud near Kivik in Skåne in the south of Sweden. Though the project draws upon existing plans for an institution like this on the site, it has been independently developed and can thus be regarded as a project sufficient in itself.
During the work-in-progress a proposal has been shaped which considers the existing landscape and emphasizes its characteristics. Great effort has been invested in the centre's location, and thereafter the work has focused on finding an expression for the art centre that connects to the specific character of the surroundings in this part of Skåne. At the same time it has been important to find solutions that really functions. Several thoroughly visits to the site at different times of the year has been necessary to either confirm or negotiate earlier approaches. The collaborative work-process has been instructive and rewording and has given us insights into how our respective professions think and work. All decisions are results of discussions and has been taken in consensus. The process is documented and appended herewith in a sketchbook which is a large part of this examinationwork..
This project will be presented at both SLU Alnarp and KTH Stockholm. |

Ambitionen med detta arbete är att i ett gemensamt projekt mellan en landskapsarkitektstudent och en arkitektstudent formge ett konst- och kulturcenter vid Lilla Stenshuvud nära Kivik i Skåne. Projektet bygger, fristående, på idag långt gångna planer på en sådan institution på platsen. Under arbetets gång har ett förslag vuxit fram som vill ta hänsyn till det befintliga landskapet och förstärka dess karaktär. Stor vikt har lagts vid konst- och kulturcentrets placering på platsen och arbetet har handlat mycket om att hitta ett formspråk som knyter an till omgivningarna på Österlen. Samtidigt har det varit viktigt att hitta lösningar som fungerar på riktigt. Flera grundliga platsbesök vid olika tidpunkter på året har varit nödvändiga för att hitta ståndpunkter att hålla fast vid eller senare omvärdera. Den gemensamma arbetsprocessen har varit lärorik och givande och gett oss en inblick i hur respektive yrkesgrupp tänker och arbetar. Alla beslut har diskuterats fram och tagits i samförstånd. Processen finns dokumenterad i en bifogad skissbok (som är en stor del av detta examensarbete).
