| description | This report was an outcome of a cooperation between "The Visitor and Knowledge Project Carl von Linné" and SLU, the Swedish University of Agricultural Science. The aim with the cooperation was to create a garden and to suggest suitable plants for an orangery already built. All species suggested should have a documented relationship with Carl von Linné. The project is located in the southern part of Sweden at an estate named Möckelsnäs not far away from Linné's birthplace. According to the project plan the garden will be inaugurated the 23rd of May 2007 to celebrate the three hundred year anniversary of Carl von Linné. The paper presents a list of around 400 species for the garden and a list of around 60 species suitable for the orangery. The species in the garden have been divided into different themes and groups. The themes are; A flower clock, Events, The twenty four classes of Linné, The six domestic travels of Linné, and Linné's pupils. The remaining species, not included in any themes, have been divided into the following groups, perennials, bulbs and corms, roses, vegetables, aquatic plants, and fruit and berries. To make the garden complete the medicinal species and the spices have been selected by Louise Ottosson, biology student, in her master thesis. In total there will be around eight hundred species in the garden. Species plantarum, Hortus Linnaeanus and Adonis Stenbrohultensis are the main sources used in this report. Hopfully this report will be used as a starting point of a garden that will be attractive and prosper for several generations. |

Hopfully this report will be used as a starting point of a garden that will be attractive and prosper for several generations. 2006-01-18 Other NonPeerReviewed application/pdf sv https://stud.epsilon.slu.se/12958/1/albertsson_j_jeppson_s_171117.pdf Albertsson, Johannes and Jeppson, Simon, 2005.
