A first step in that direction is to form the area of the entrance, the specific area the visitors are staying at before entering the actual golfcourse to play.
The designproposal is inspired by the peasant garden history of southern Sweden during the nineteenth centuary. It also aims to satisfy the demands of function and usefullness of a golfcourse today. There is no intention of creating a nineteenth centuary peasant garden, but instead using the typical attributes and elements from that time, both as a visual attraction with a historical dimension and to be functional in the golfcourse entry area. The entry area of Maglarps golfcourse has been designed to be a userfriendly establishment where the visitors are tickled by the different elements from the nineteenth centuary gardens of farmers, characterized by the familiar atmosphere the place is known to be. |

Maglarps golf drivs på Lyckebo gård på Söderslätt i Skåne och har det vida böljande landskapet som utsikt söderut. Lyckebo gård är ursprungsnamnet på den fyrlängade gård där, år 2000, dåvarande ägaren Bo Herrlöfsson anlade Maglarps/ Lyckebo golf på sina odlingsmarker. I april i år 2007 tog de nya ägarna, Mårten och Christer, över golfanläggningen och gården. De satsar på att utveckla Maglarps golf och bredda dess verksamhet. Ett första steg i den riktningen är att gestalta omgivningen till entréområdet, ytan som besökaren vistas på innan hon/han går ut på banan. Gestaltningsförslaget inspireras av trädgårdshistoriens ideal och formspråk under 1800-talets allmogeperiod samt motsvarar dagens krav på funktion och användning på en golfanläggning. Jag har inte haft för avsikt att skapa en 1800-tals allmogeträdgård utan jag vill använda mig av olika typiska element som i dagens miljö både tilltalar estetiskt och får en användaraspekt. En av allmogeträdgårdens typiska attribut är bland annat korsgången som skapade olika kvarter för frukt-, örta- och kålgård. Bönderna hittade sina influenser hos de högre stånden. Adeln i sin tur inspirerades till en början av renässansen för att senare övergå till att hämta influenser från de tyska och engelska landskapsparkerna. Det växtmaterialet som används i gestaltningen har valts efter ett ståndortsperspektiv samt ur ett historiskt perspektiv.
