I chose to carry out a survey study that got a response rate of 57 persons in Tarapoto and 63 in Uppsala.
The results show that there are some common basic values, but on the whole the outdoor environments are valued differently in the two cities. In short, the Peruvians value functionality, cleanliness, small distances to family and service, while the Swedes value a central location and short distances to friends apart from functionality and good service opportunities. Conceivable reasons for this might be for example different cultural prerequisits, material standard and climate. |

Den här uppsatsen behandlar människors syn på vad som är viktigt för att de ska trivas där de bor. Huvudsyftet har varit att ta reda på vilka faktorer i stadens utemiljöer som uppskattas och varför de värderas positivt. En jämförelse har gjorts mellan Uppsala i Sverige och Tarapoto i Peru för att ta reda på om skillnader finns i människors värderingar, och i så fall vilka. Jag valde att utföra en enkätundersökning som besvarades av 57 personer i Tarapoto och 63 i Uppsala. Resultaten visar att det finns vissa gemensamma grundvärderingar, men på det stora hela värderas utemiljöerna olika i de två städerna. Kort sagt uppskattar man funktionalitet, renhet, närhet till släkt och service i Peru, medan man i Sverige värderar ett centralt läge och närhet till vänner förutom funktionalitet och goda servicemöjligheter.
