| description | Flustret is a restaurant and an entertainment place situated by Svandammen in Uppsala. It all began in 1842 as a café serving coffee, tea, chocolate and pastry. During the years the building has had numbers of different owners. The owners of today are running Flustret in a same friendly spirit that has been characteristic from the beginning.
The buldings history is now approaching an age of 165 years. Throughout the years different historical layers have been placed on top of each other, leaving a layer of patches. The proposals of changes that this Master thesis has resulted in is a natural development according to the history of Flustret. In the master thesis have I chosen to give a proposals of changes for the entrance area and the parking facility belonging to Flustret. The main idea for the Master thesis has been to propose a design for an outdoor nightclub situated in the area currently used as a parking facility.
Through a historical retrospect Flustrets development is presented from it's beginning until todays ongoing activity and owner situation. The proposed design is based on an stocktaking and analysis of the building and its surrounding with focus on the entrance area and the parking area.
By studying existing nightclubs through books and visits have I been able to define the vital elements of a nightclub. My proposal for the entrance and the outdoor nightclub have resulted in a new design based on these viatal elements and adjusted to the specific of Flustret. |

Flustret är en restaurang och nöjesplats belägen vid Svandammen i Uppsala. Verksamheten tog sin början redan 1842, då som ett schweizeri med servering av kaffe, te, choklad och bakverk. Byggnaden har genom åren haft en rad olika ägare och dagens ägare driver Flustret i samma folkliga anda som har varit kännetecknet för rörelsen genom åren. Byggnadens historia börjar nu närma sig en ålder av 165 år. Genom åren har de historiska lagren lagts ovanpå varandra och dagens fastighet är präglad av det lapptäcke som åren har skapat. Det förslag till förnyelse som detta examensarbete resulterar i är en naturlig del i Flustrets historiska utveckling. I examensarbetet har jag valt att ta fram ett förslag till förnyelse av Flustrets entré samt till dagens parkering. Själva grundidén till examensarbetet har varit att ta fram ett förslag till en nattklubb utomhus på Flustret, belägen på dagens parkering. Genom en historisk återblick presenterar jag byggnadens utveckling sedan dess början för att sluta i en genomgång av dagens verksamhet och ägarförhållanden. En inventering och analys av dagens fastighet samt ett mer fördjupande arbete i Flustrets entréområde samt parkeringsplats ligger till grunden för det förslag som presenteras. Genom att studera befintliga nattklubbar i text och genom studiebesök har jag definierat en nattklubbs beståndsdelar och utifrån dessa arbetat fram ett förslag som är anpassat till den aktuella platsen.
