Syftet med denna retrospektiva fallstudie var att undersöka vilka sjukdomar som ses i samband med trombocytopeni hos svenska hundar. I studien ingick 123 hundar med trombocytopeni. Den vanligaste förekommande diagnosen hos hundar med trombocytopeni var neoplasi (32%). Den största gruppen inom denna diagnosgrupp utgjordes av ej närmare specificerade neoplasier. Näst vanligaste orsaken var infektiösa eller inflammatoriska tillstånd (26%). I denna grupp var det ehrlichios som var den vanligaste diagnosen. Den tredje största gruppen i storleksordning var immunologiska tillstånd (15%).
