The results are made out of educational visits at different farms and literature
investigations. Those dairy farms who I visited had different milking system at each
farm and the cattle farm I visited had beef production. The farms are placed in the
middle and south of Sweden.
At 1998 the Swedish Board of Agriculture decided to change the stall breadth and
stall length and the result of this is that many farmers had to rebuild their cattle- and
dairy buildings or end farming. |

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att få mer kunskap inför ett generationsskifte på föräldragården, utifrån de bästa förutsättningarna. I arbetet har jag med litteraturstudier och studiebesök som grund valt att göra två ritningar till ladugårdar, en för mjölkproduktion och en för dikoproduktion, utifrån de förutsättningar som finns på min föräldragård i Dalarna. Resultatet bygger på gjorda studiebesök och litteraturundersökningar. Studiebesöken har varit på mjölkgårdar både stora och små samt en köttgård. Mjölkgårdarna som har besökts har olika drift och mjölkningssystem i förhållande till varandra. Köttgården som besökts har ungnötsproduktion. Gårdarna är placerade i mellersta och södra Sverige. De nya båsmåtts reglerna för bundna kor som genomfördes år 1998 av Statens jordbruksverk har lett till att många mindre mjölkproducenter tvingats sluta eller bygga nytt. Många övervägde att sluta eftersom lönsamheten även lyste med sin frånvaro för många. Många producenter valde att börja med köttproduktion och stallade in köttdjur i de tidigare mjölkkostallarna vilket verkar vara en fas mellan att vara aktiv producent och att sluta. Slutsatsen av detta arbete är att det är svårt att välja produktionsgren av dessa två alternativ. Diko produktion är den som är enklast att genomföra i dagens läge men mjölkproduktion ligger närmast till hand som man ska välja med hjärtat.
