with the highest probability going to be forced to use 100 % organic feed to the cows in the
year 2005, due to new EU-rules. These are some of the causes why there are reasons to look
closer at the possibilities to feed Swedish cows with only Swedish feeds.
In this study, I have looked at the KRAV-rules for organic feeding, where the goal is feeding
with only KRAV-approved feeds. The most interesting protein crops, for example rape and
rape products, field beans, peas and lupines are compared with soya bean meal. Crops that can
be cultivated in Sweden, are studied in a literature review. Swedish feeding rations and a
feeding ration made by myself is also included.
I have investigated experiences among Swedish farmers according to feeding with 100 %
organic feed to cows, through a questionnaire. Seven farms are included in the study. The
answers at the questionnaire indicate that the organic feedings are working very well,
according to the farmers.
Some of the results from the study are that, according to experiments and experiences, feeding
cows with only Swedish feed works, and that it also works with only home-produced crops.
The biggest problem is providing the cows with enough rumen-stable protein. Most of the
protein crops contains a lot of easy soluble protein, and would get a better composition of the
protein after heat-treatment. The product Expro from rape is an example of that. |

I nuläget importeras stora mängder proteinfodermedel från utlandet för att användas i den svenska mjölkproduktionen, framförallt soja från Brasilien. Denna odling leder till negativa miljökonsekvenser där och transporten till Sverige är energikrävande. Den ekologiska mjölkproduktionen i Sverige kommer med största sannolikhet drabbas av ett krav på 100 % ekologiskt foder till korna år 2005. Detta är några av orsakerna till att det finns anledning att titta närmare på möjligheterna att utfodra med enbart svenska fodermedel. I detta arbete har jag tagit upp KRAV:s regler för utfodring, där målet är utfodring med enbart kravgodkända fodermedel. De svenska proteinfoder som är intressanta, bl.a. raps och rapsprodukter samt åkerbönor, ärter och lupiner redovisas i jämförelse med sojamjöl. Aktuella grödor som kan odlas i Sverige, både grovfoder och proteingrödor berörs i en litteraturstudie. Svenska (ej ekologiska) foderstater tas upp och ett försök på detta område redovisas. Jag har även gjort ett eget exempel på en foderstat innehållande bl.a. åkerbönor, lupiner och värmebehandlad rapskaka. Genom att skicka ut en enkät med frågor angående utfodring med 100 % ekologiskt (svenskt) foder till mjölkkor har jag kollat upp erfarenheter inom detta område. Undersökningen är gjord bland ekologiska mjölkproducenter som redan nu utfodrar med enbart ekologiskt foder. Sju gårdar är med i undersökningen. Frågorna i enkäten handlar bl.a. om vilka problem, som lantbrukarna upplevt efter övergången. I undersökningen framkom bl.a. att foderstaterna enligt flera lantbrukare fungerar mycket bra, och att produktionen kan hållas på en hög nivå. I arbetet kom jag bl.a. fram till att det enligt erfarenheter och försök fungerar bra med enbart svenska fodermedel i foderstaten, och även enbart hemmaproducerade. Det största problemet är AAT-försörjningen. Många proteinfodergrödor innehåller högt PBV och skulle få betydligt bättre sammansättning av proteinet genom värmebehandling.
