Sumario:There is no doubt about the significance of nature on the health of human beings. Not only is the tree an element of nature that is of great value to our survival, it also serves as a valuable object and symbol of human beings' enjoyment and appreciation of the environment. The purpose of this study is to present the relationship that a person may have with a specific tree. Three women and two men are interviewed about their trees and the places where they are located. The intension is to describe the significance of the tree from various dimensions of experience. The study points out the importance of the tree as an object when exploring reality. Moreover, the tree contradictory symbolizes special places for both solitude and social life. Furthermore, the study shows how trees may serve as objects that support our identity, both at an external and internal level. The study indicates that strong reactions of grief are often linked to the loss of a tree in a person's life. In today's dense and rapidly changing urban environment, the positive significance of trees for our wellbeing and health is threatened. Careful town-planning is required to allow continuity in the relationships with trees that people often seek during their lifetime.
