The thesis is also about the design process set out from a technical reality, based on camera imagery. To a large extent, the thesis consists of reflections concerning the object's function towards pedagogy, perception and materials. Furthermore, the object claims to be a hybrid between architecture and landscape architecture. Through a reading towards relevant parts of Elias Cornell's text entitled "Om rummet och arkitekturens väsen" an analysis of the object as hybrid is performed.
The concept of the object design is the doubleness of conceptions and the duplicity between pairs of conception. The thesis consists of analytically reflecting texts, selfmade photographic pictures, computer-based illustrations and one model. |

I detta examensarbete har jag utformat ett arkitektoniskt objekt för användning i en pedagogisk miljö. Syftet med denna objektsutformning är att ge studenter en plats, en lokal och ett sammanhang, där de konkret kan testa designer med växter lämpliga för den urbana miljön. En av objektsutformningens huvuduppgifter är därför att påminna om de urbana rum som bildas mellan stadens fasader. Examensarbetet skildrar designprocessens utgångspunkt i en fotografisk teknisk verklighet och reflekterar över objektets funktion i ett pedagogiskt och materialtekniskt hänseende. En stor del av arbetet utgörs därför av resonerande beskrivningar över hur objektet kan upplevas visuellt och rumsligt. Objektet är vidare ett försök till hybrid mellan arkitektur och landskapsarkitektur. Mot relevanta partier i Elias Cornells text ”Om rummet och arkitekturens väsen” tolkas både objektet som hybrid och hybridbegreppet i sig. Bärande idé för objektsutformningen har varit dubbelheten hos begrepp och begreppspar. Bland begreppsparen ingår inomhus och utomhus respektive framsida och baksida.
