Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom ett försök testa en den teori som Shafir lade fram 1993: att valresultatet i vissa fall kan påverkas av valreglerna. Teorin går ut på att resultatet skiljer sig åt beroende på om man väljer alternativ eller väljer bort alternativ. Vidare ska uppsatsen diskutera hur denna teori, och närliggande teorier, kan påverka ett komplext val. Grunden för diskussionen är de val som medlemmarna i ett kooperativ eller en styrelse kan tänkas behöva göra, och hur ovannämnda teorier kan spela in i sådana situationer. De olika teorier som finns kommer att presentares ytlig. Därefter beskrivs försöket och metoden, sedan presenteras resultatet och analysen därav.
