preparation on two clearcuts in boulder-rich terrain. Because of the rocky terrain, the
scarification was made with excavators, one equipped with a wide bucket and one equipped with a
narrow bucket.
The aim of this study was to investigate which bucket size gives the best site preparation results
in difficult terrain. The results were not significant, but they indicated that the narrow bucket
allows the operator to scarify in more places than the wider bucket. |
