Sumario: | Three strata of the broccoli plant were sampled (old leaves, young leaves and influorescens) to identify aphid species, determine their distribution on the plant and their populational fluctuation. Species found were Brevicoryne brassicae (85%) and Myzus persicae (15%). Both showed preference for young leaves, and their populations increased 32 and 40 days after transplanting. Both species contaminated influorescens and can cause the rejection of the broccoli for export. Nevertheless, B. brassicae contaminated the influorescens to a greater extent. |
