Se muestrearon 587 hectáreas plantadas de Eucalyptus tereticornis (80 por ciento), Eucalyptus camaldulensis (15 por ciento) y Eucalyptus urophylla (5 por ciento). Se recolectaron e identificaron 16427 termitas, utilizando la metodología de transectos. Las termitas encontradas corresponden a Microcerotermes sp. (96.97 por ciento) atacando las tres especies de eucalipto Amitermes foreli (0.030 por ciento) y Coptotermes crassus (2.0 por ciento) se encontraron atacando E. tereticornis. Se precisan las características del daño, su importancia en el área muestreada y las observaciones que permitieron identificar taxonómicamente las termitas y asociarlas con un tipo de daño y árbol atacado. Sampling and identification of termites atacking Eucalyptus trees were carried out at the San Sebastián forest plantation, in Colombia. Damage on the trees was also described. Close to 600 ha were surveyed for the collection and identification of termite species, where 80 per cent of the trees were Eucalyptus tereticornis, 15 per cent Eucalyptus camaldulensis and 5 per cent Eucalyptus urophylla. Sixteen thousand termites were collected and identified using the transect method. the species found belonged to Microcerotermes sp. (96.97 per cent), attacking the three Eucalyptus species, and Amitermes foreli (0.030 per cent) and Coptotermes crassus (2.0 per cent) were found on E. tereticornis.
