Se evaluó la respuesta funcional de Chrysoperla externa (Hagen) (Neuroptera:Chrysopidae) alimentada con Aphis gossypii Glover en plantas de algodón en invernadero. Se demostró que los tricomas de los cultivares no influenciaron negativamente la capacidad depredadora de C. externa. El aumento en la capacidad de depredación, en función del incremento en la densidad de pulgones ofrecidos al depredador, mostró una respuesta funcional linear positiva para todos los instares de C. externa, excepto para las larvas de primer y tercer instar mantenidas en el cultivar CNPA 7 H. The functional response of Chrysoperla externa (Hagen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) fed on Aphis gossypii Glover on cotton greenhouse plants was evaluated. The cotton trichomes did not influence negatively the predatory capacity of C. externa.
