Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica), 2010 program of activities and knowledge sharing, capacity building and networking, each initiative was described and the lessons learned and key elements that deliver efficiency to the process of governance were identified. The lessons learned and key elements of governance highlight the need for Model Forests to generate inclusive participatory opportunities for the variety of stakeholders involved to strengthen personal values to define jointly a common vision for development, to have at least one person or group to lead the process, and that transfering information facilitates the inclusion of actors and the understanding of their role in the initiative. La investigación buscó identificar y evaluar las estrategias y mecanismos utilizados por los Bosques Modelo Prince Albert de Canadá, Reventazón de Costa Rica y Araucarias del Alto Malleco de Chile como sistemas de gobernanza para el manejo de los recursos naturales. Con la revisión de documentación, entrevistas semiestructuradas a actores claves de cada bosque modelo frente a los principios y atributos asociación, paisaje, compromiso con la sostenibilidad, gobernanza, programa de trabajo, y el intercambio de conocimientos, construcción de capacidades y trabajo en red definidos por la Red Internacional de Bosques Modelo, y talleres de sistematización se obtuvo una caracterización de cada iniciativa y se construyó su historia permitiendo obtener lecciones aprendidas e identificar aquellos elementos claves que entregan eficiencia al proceso de gobernanza. En tanto las lecciones aprendidas y elementos claves para la gobernanza, señalan que los Bosques Modelo deben generar oportunidades de participación para la variedad de actores fortalecer los valores para las relaciones personales contar con al menos una persona o grupo que lo conduzca y debe implementar procedimientos para la permanente transferencia de información que facilite la inserción de los actores y el entendimiento de su rol en la iniciativa. This study seeks to identify and evaluate strategies and mechanisms used by the Prince Albert Model Forest in Canada, the Reventazón Model Forest in Costa Rica and the Araucarias del Alto Malleco Model Forest in Chile as governance systems for natural resource management.
