At the present time, forest ecology studies are focused on the influence of high taxonomic diversity on the quantity and quality of services that forests perform. In the study area dominant species were selected in terMON of basal area and for each the leaf area, leaflet area, specific leaf area, leaf tensile strength, leaf dry matter content, leaf content of nitrogen and phosphorus and specific density of wood were determined. These are key traits in the determinational ecosystem functions like nutrient cycling and carbon capture and storage. Lastly, the pertinency of the three FD measures was evaluated. The three are adequate as an aproximation to the quantification of FD and its influence on ecosystem processes, but the testing of indices that take into acconunt relative abundance is recommended for cleares links to ecosystem processes and their influence on the quality of the nutrient cycling and carbon capture and storage services. 2014-10-20T05:06:30Z 2014-10-20T05:06:30Z 2007 Tesis de maestría 371188 https://repositorio.catie.ac.cr/handle/11554/5163 http://orton.catie.ac.cr/repdoc/A1667e/A1667e.pdf Turrialba (Costa Rica) es application/pdf CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica) |
