Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica), 2009 El objetivo principal de este trabajo fue la formulación de gránulos base a los que se pueda incorporar extractos de plantas y hongos con efecto biológico contra el hongo simbiótico cultivado por las hormigas forrajeras del género Atta. Se prepararon gránulos con diferentes combinaciones y concentraciones de azúcar, maicena, avena, carboximetilcelulosa, gelatina, talco, bentonita, aceite de soya y agua y se evalúo la citropulpa, el extracto alcohólico de cáscaras de naranja y el aceite de semillas de naranja como atrayentes. Los resultados de la investigación mostraron que la fórmula de los gránulos elaborados con citropulpa como atrayente presenta mayor capacidad de atraer a las hormigas y enmascarar los ingredientes activos, superior rapidez de acarreo, menor costo de Producción, estabilidad química aceptable y conservan viable los ingredientes activos evaluados en esta investigación por lo que se recomienda la utilización de esta fórmula para la incorporación de ingredientes activos con efecto biológico contra las hormigas forrajera del género Atta. The main objective of this study was to formulate a base for producing granules that allow the incorporation of active ingredients with biological effect against the symbiotic fungus cultivated by the leaf cutting ants in the genus Atta. The granules were prepared with different concentrations and combinations of sugar, cornstarch, oats, carboxymethylcellulose, gelatin, talc, bentonite, soybean oil and water. Citrus pulp, alcoholic extract of orange peel and orange seed oil were used as attractants. The results show that the base formulation produced using citrus pulp has better ability to attract ants and cover active ingredients.
