Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica), 2006 La estructura de la comunidad de nemátodos de vida libre en el suelo fue comparada en doce fincas bananeras comerciales en las zonas este y oeste de la cuenca del río Reventazón en Costa Rica, con el fin de determinar su utilidad como indicadores de calidad y salud de suelos bananeros. En cada finca se ubicaron dos tratamientos, un sitio de alta y un sitio de baja Producción. Los índices de diversidad, dominancia y fitonematodos, presentaron diferencias significativas dentro de los sitios, permitiendo de esta manera definir características de las poblaciones de nematodos presentes en el suelo. El estudio de la estructura de la comunidad de nematodos a través de grupos tróficos y los índices de la comunidad, permitió concluir que los suelos evaluados presentan ambientes disturbados y sometidos a estrés en el ambiente por las prácticas de manejo agrícola. The community structure of soil free living nematodes was compared in twelve commercial banana farMON in the east and west areas of the Reventazon river watershed in Costa Rica in order to determine their utility as banana soils health and quality indicators. Two sites of production were compared in each farm (a high production site and low one). Diversity, dominance and phytonematode indexes showed significant differences within high and low production sites, thus allowing to define characteristics of nematode populations present in the soil.
