Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica), 2011 El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo general, analizar algunos componentes de la gestióny la gobernanza del recurso hídrico en la microcuenca del río La Balsa, Costa Rica. Para ello se realizó un análisis de uso actual y conflictos de uso del suelo, determinación del uso de buenas prácticas agropecuarias de manejo de cuencas, identificación y caracterización de actores (funciones, perfil, relacionamiento e interacción), organización y articulación de actores en torno al recurso hídrico y un análisis del estado de las franjas ribereñas como indicador de gestión y gobernanza del agua. Finalmente se evidenció un buen estado ecológico de las franjas ribereñas de la microcuenca, en el tramo de cauce evaluado, pero se debe continuar la evaluación a otros sectores hasta completar toda la microcuenca. This study was generally aimed at analyzing some components of the management and governance of water resources in La Balsa river watershed in Costa Rica. For this purpose an analysis of the current use and land use conflicts, the determination of the use of good agricultural practices for watershed management, the identification and characterization of actors (roles, profile, relationshipis and interaction), organization and coordination of actors related to the water resource and an analysis of the status of riparian strips as an indicator of water management and governance.
