Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica),1988 Con el objetivo de calibrar y validar el modelo CERES-Maíz usando la población Tusa fina y el cultivar CESDA-28, se llevaron a cabo seis experimentos de campo en las zonas de Turrialba en Costa Rica (cuatro) y de Azua y Santo Domingo en la República Dominicana (dos), durante el período mayo de 1987 a febrero 1988. Con los datos generados en la fase de investigación físico-biológica (ciclo 1, Turrialba) fundamentalmente se calibró el modelo. La validación del modelo se hizo con los datos obtenidos a partir de los experimentos realizados en Turrialba (ciclo 2) en Costa Rica, y en las zonas de Azua y Santo Domingo en la República Dominicana. En términos generales el modelo simuló adecuadamente el crecimiento, desarrollo y rendimiento de ambos materiales genéticos. The objective of this work was to calibrate and validate the CERES-Maize model using Tusa fina population and CESDA-28 cultivar. Six field experiments were conducted the areas of Turrialba, Costa Rica (four) and Azua and Santo Domingo (two) in the Dominican Republic during May 1987 and February, 1988. The model was calibrated fundamentally with the data generated in the phase of physical and biological investigation (cycle 1, Turrialba). The validation of the model was made with data obtained in the experiments carried out, in Turrialba (cycle 2)Costa Rica and in the zones of Azua and Santo Domingo of the Dominican Republic.
