Bib. p. 91-108 Una metodología fue desarrollada para permitir que el pago para servicios ambientales se enfoque más en el valor funcional del árbol mientras, el empoderamiento de gente local y la valoración de la cobertura arbórea se facilitaron con la formación de promotores para el muestreo. El valor de las especies fue estimado combinando rasgos funcionales y características ecológicas, y de la cobertura arbórea ponderando el valor de las especies por las dimensiones individuales de los árboles. Para el valor de las especies relacionado al carbono, se tomó en cuenta solo el rasgo de densidad de madera, mientras con respecto a la biodiversidad.Como fue de esperar, el valor de la cobertura arbórea para el servicio de carbono fue más correlacionado con el área basal y para el servicio de biodiversidad, con el valor funcional de las especies. El conocimiento de las dimensiones de los árboles o el valor funcional de las especies fue más importante en parcelas con densidad arbórea y área basal altas. A methodology was developed to permit environmental service payments more focused on tree functional value while empowerment of people and land evaluation were facilitated by training local promoters for sampling. Tree species value was estimated by combining functional traits and other attributes, and tree cover value, by weighting species value by the dimensions of individuals. For carbon-related species value, wood density was the only trait taken into account, while regarding biodiversity. As expected, tree cover value for the carbon service was correlated with basal area and for the biodiversity service, with species ecological value.
