| Sumario: | A survey of insects in cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp. cv. Cana Verde) crop was conducted using light-traps and sweep nets at the Experimental Station of EMBRAPA-CPAF/ACRE from August 1984 to May/August 1986. The insects collected totaled 18,165 individuals, which were classified into 68 genera or species. The most important species were:
• Maruca testulalis (Geyer 1832) (first week of July)
• Neocurtilla hexadactyla (Perty 1832) (first and last week of June)
• Pledorotus guildinii (Westwood 1837) (first week of June)
• Cerotoma tingomarianus Bechyné (third week of June)
• Crinocerus sanctus (Fabr.) (third week of July)
Six predatory taxons and one potential pest of cowpea, Eusichistus sp., also occurred.
