When standards of comparison are needed the alcohol serves as the solvent for the known amounts of the insecticides being considered A number of the vestigial-winged Drosophilas anesthetized with CO, is placed into the testing cups Each analytical series includes the various testing samples, the standards, and the true check. Some products require slight modifications of the method described. The ppm. of insecticidal residues may be determined by comparing the mortalities obtained from the samples with the mortality curve of the standards. |
