Particular emphasis is given to green matter intake and the fact that feeding standards are based on observations of stall fed animals. The figure suggested by Crampton of 3 Kg of dry matter consumption per 100 Kg. of body weight as indicating high consumption, seems to be applicable in many instances. For green forages a high consumption seems to be around 14 Kg green matter per 100 Kg. of body weight. |
