| Sumario: | Two tests were carried out at Chimborazo province, Ecuador, to determine the efficiency of Tedion V-18 as acaricide. Comparisons where made with Malathion and Sulfuron X for the control of the peach mite (Tetranychus telarius L.) which severely injures the leaves. Tedion V-18 proved to be a long lasting and effective acaricide, although the initial action is slow. Sulfuron X provided a satisfactory and persistant control, but in general is less effective than Tedion V-18. Malathion, quite effective at first, later seemed to give unsatisfactory results, perhaps due to the destruction of predators or parasites. In the mixed applications, Malathion + Tedion V-18 and Sulfuron + Tedion V-18 were the best, assuring initial and lasting control.
