Sumario:The action of several detergents upon the growth of seedlings of hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) was determined Of seven "Carbowax type detergents, used at the concentration 02 per cent, only Carbowax-200 was phytotoxic regarding the development of the seedlings. All six Tergitol type detergents, used at the concentra-tion 02 per cent, were phytotoxic. The same "Tergitol detergents were not phytotoxic at the concen tration 0.05, excepting Tergitol NPX and Tergitol NP-14.
