Soemaroeba ramifica en verticilos y no muestra indicios de poda natural aún después de cerrarse los rodales. Esto es particularmente evidente en plantaciones al sol pero también ocurre en faja aunque en menor escala. Al dejar de podar, el verticilo de ramas inhibe el crecimiento de las yemas laterales situadas arriba aumentando la distancia sobre el tallo del próximo verticilo.
La poda deberá posponerse hasta tanto se hayan formado por lo menos dos verticilos y no debe removerse el verticilo superior hasta tanto se haya formado el siguiente verticilo sucesivo. |
