Description
Summary:Nematodes constitute an important problem on coffee production in the Dominican Republic. A complete survey was made in the different coffee areas of the country. The important species involved in the complex were identified, finding two species Pratylenchus coffeae producing lesions in the absorbent rootlets, and Meloidogyne exigua producing nodules. It is suggested the use of fertilizers, the utilization of nursery plants (not spontaneous) and the use of Coffea canephora var. "Robusta" as the source of resistance by means of grafting and obtaining the combination of resistance with quality.
